We don't know either, but you may be wondering why there is a Prime 90 formula for these three species. It all started with the horses...

Prime 90 was introduced into the professional horse and dog markets three years ago. They were developed as veterinarian and professional grade products for horse/dog trainers, breeders, and for the specialized competition racing fields. They are now available to the retail consumer who is concerned with his animal's health and well-being.

Products for People: There is now a new line of products for humans, that has just been introduced. This new product line was based on all the research and foundation of the animal products and with many additional years of research and development.

The Beginning - "The Wilderness Years": The history of Prime 90 starts in 1979 when Dr. David Hahn (PhD, Biophysics) was living in Southern Utah. Southern Utah is noted for its wide open spaces and many National Parks. It is a true desert and wilderness area surrounding a few small Utah cities. Dr. Hahn was living in Cedar City breeding both cattle and horses. Horses are always challenging with all of their injuries, illnesses, rashes, etc. Dr. Hahn had purchased and tried every horse product that was on the market or recommended by everyone and anyone. No matter the product or dosage amounts, he never had any positive results with his animals.

Dr. Hahn found himself constantly on a search for a product that would do what it claimed it would do. In his pursuit of a genuine product, he found himself visiting the wilderness areas of Southern Utah where wild horses roam. As he observed the wild horse herds, he noticed that the horses fed on very specific plants. These eating habits of given plants varied from season to season. The horses would only eat certain plants at very specific times of the year. His observations of these wild horse herds lasted over a period of five years (in all seasons and conditions). The natural question that came to Dr. Hahn's mind was, "Do these horses instinctively know the plants to eat throughout the year that will give them the nutrients and minerals that they need?" He wanted a true and scientifically-based answer to this question. If he could find an answer, maybe he could find a solution to his horse problems.

So he began gathering samples of every plant that these wild horses ate, and took them to the College of Southern Utah's Chemistry Department for complete analysis. This analysis broke down every nutrient and mineral that was contained in these plant samplings. He then took this complete list and compared it to all the ingredients that were listed in commercially available products. What he found was a substantial lack of key minerals in the commercial products. Why were there so many natural occurring minerals in the plants that the horses ate? And why is it so important? These questions led to an analysis of the physiological assessments of the need for minerals and enzymes. All this data was collected and assessed over many years and he was now ready for the next step - "The Solution."

Teaming Up - Finding "The Solution": Dr. Hahn now had much of the research and answers as to which minerals are important and why they are so important. Two Problems: The whole challenge boiled down to just two problems that required exact science to solve;

1) Exactly what minerals are critical to an animal's well-being, with the flipside of this problem having to also be considered - exactly what minerals are detrimental and should not be included? This first problem would also include the exact dosage that would be optimum to the animal's health.

2) The second problem is the biggest problem of all; how do you package the minerals so that they can be assimilated into the animal's system? The solution to this last problem would be like finding the "Holy Grail." Assimilation of a product into an animal's or human's system has been the most elusive challenge of all to the manufacturers of nutritionals and supplements since they were developed.

Dr. Hahn met Dr. Bryon Tarbet (PhD, Synthetic/Organic Chemistry) in the early '90's because of daughters the same age. They formed a fast friendship which turned into a business partnership. They immediately began working on the challenges that these two problems posed. They could only do so much in the lab. In 1995 they formed a partnership (Business name: "Four Seasons Farm") in a huge horse facility. It was located in Lehi, Utah and was advertised as "The Wasatch Horse Center," specializing in boarding, training and feeding horses. It was the largest horse facility in the Southwest U.S. - servicing up to 150 horses at any given time.

The purpose of this purchase was to establish a viable research center, that would deal with the full range of horse problems relating to their feed, medical and nutritional needs. The partners wanted "first hand" experiences with all horse activities. They wanted to conduct tests in a controlled environment where all parameters could be defined and where all results would be measured. In plain terms, they wanted PROOF of everything they were testing! They were now ready to develop the most revolutionary mineral product that would change the way we care for our animals and ourselves.

The Making of Prime 90: There were two major problems in formulating this product that Dr. Hahn and Dr. Tarbet would have to solve:

Problem #1: All mineral supplements have been formulated to be absorbed rapidly and efficiently through the digestion process. This is a 4-8 hour process in most large mammals (horses, dogs, humans and etc.) It literally takes amino acids 4-8 hours to absorb and combine with minerals so that they can enter the bloodstream of the animals, if they ever do! However, the scientific fact is that almost all food, minerals or whatever that goes into the stomach is processed and eliminated within four hours. Digestion is complete within 4-6 hours. Therefore, the minerals are digested and eliminated before they can even begin to be absorbed by the body. In other words, digestion is always twice as fast as absorption. This is a tremendous problem, and this is why manufacturers are putting in huge doses of minerals and nutrients into their products trying to compensate for this poor absorption problem.

Problem #2: Delivery: Even if the mineral is absorbed, how is it delivered to the specific enzyme or site where it is needed? It has to be formulated so that it can be received and incorporated by the enzyme. Otherwise the mineral will just continue flowing throughout the bloodstream and be eliminated by the kidneys. So even if huge mega doses of minerals are administered, with some entering the bloodstream - these raw minerals will not combine with their designated enzymes for catalyzation. This is why any kind of positive results from competitors has been poor to non-existent.

They solved problem #1 by inventing a bioavailable molecular carrier, Glucosaplex, that is accepted by the body as naturally as plant chelated minerals. When absorption occurs on the molecular level, it begins INSTANTANEOUSLY, with molecule bonding to molecule! This is so that virtually all of the minerals are absorbed into the bloodstream (90% based on independent blood analysis).

Problem #2 is solved by the Glucosaplex chelating matrix delivery system and its ability to transport all the required minerals to the critical enzyme sites that are located throughout the body. All enzymes in the body must be matched with specific minerals that are required for the enzymes to function properly. This HI-TECH matrix system allows for scientifically predictable delivery quantities and in turn ... predictable results. The formula can now be controlled to such a degree that each mineral is prepared like a key that fits perfectly into a lock. This "lock-and-key system" delivers any mineral to an enzyme as needed, and unlocks and enters those enzymes for optimum utilization. With this system, the mineral doses are based on only the biologically-required amounts (which are very small) - not commercial mega doses!

The issue is complete absorption of the mineral - not the quantity!
